Mental health problems are among the most common

of all health conditions,directly affecting about a

quarter of the population in any one year. Depression

and anxiety are the most widespread conditions.

These conditions can affect anyone, regardless of

age, race, gender or social background. Without care

and treatment, mental health problems can have a

serious affect on the individual and those around

them.

An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year.
