Glossary

  • Depression  - Enjoyment of life and ability to function socially and in day to day matters is disrupted by intense sadness, despair, numbness.

  • Anxiety - Excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations.

  • Stress - Psychological and physiological response to events that upset personal balance.

  • Panic - Feelings of terror that strike suddenly and repeatedly with no warning.

  • Adjustment Problems Severe emotional reaction to a difficult event and ife changes.

  • Relationship Problems - Healthy relationships are characterized by respect, sharing and trust. They are based on the belief that both partners are equal, that the power and control in the relationship are equally shared.

  • Behavioral Problems - Understanding emotional and behavioral disorders with practical ideas for child behavior management

  • Psychosis - A severe mental disorder, with or without organic damage, characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality and causing deterioration of normal social functioning.Crisis - Crisis includes identifying the real nature of a current crisis, intervening to minimize damage and recovering from the crisis.
